Watch regrowth on Soap2day. There is a kaleidoscopic beauty to the rich micro landscape of lichens. The beauty of lichens is what drew April Windle to them. She is one of just a handful of professional lichenologists in the UK, spending her time studying a lifeform that goes unnoticed by most people. In this short film, April reflects on how, when she experienced a period of mental health crisis, her love for lichens gave her a window back to the beauty in the world, and a way back to balance.
